{Sweet} Tooth Whitener DIY

{Sweet} Tooth Whitener DIY

Here at Indie Lee, spring-cleaning doesn’t just refer to the household: It means it’s time for a clean sweep of the smile too! Sink your teeth into our newest DIY, which is sure to brighten those (not so) pearly whites quickly, inexpensively, and of course, naturally.

Here’s all you need:

• 1 ripe strawberry (with the stem cut off)

• ½ tsp. baking soda

• 2 muddled mint leaves

• 1 toothbrush

The shining ingredient of this sensational recipe is a bit of strawberry! I have been touting the benefits of strawberries for quite some time now; this vitamin-rich fruit contains malic acid, a natural astringent, which removes surface dirt from teeth by buffing away discoloration. Mixed with baking soda, which aids in whitening, and a touch of mint for freshness, this simple DIY will buff and beautify for a shining smile.

Step 1: Mash the strawberry in a small bowl using a fork.

Step 2: Add baking soda and mint; cream together.

Step 3: Apply the mixture to teeth by brushing it on gently for one minute; leave on teeth for four additional minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Step 4: Remove leftover seeds with a bit of dental floss.

Can’t wait to hear what you think!

P.S. Even though you’re bound to fall in love with this easy recipe, keep in mind that you should only apply once or twice a month!
