Finding inspiration in Spring.

Finding inspiration in Spring.

I admit it, I’ve been in a funk.  Not an all out pull the blankie up over my eyes…but a true writers block funk.  The weather here in the Northeast has been quite cold and snowy and well – I guess I needed a little sunshine on my face and some inspiration. We all find inspiration in different ways. Sometimes it’s in a song, a walk along the beach, a hike in the mountains or just reading a good book while the sun warms you.  Personally, I find inspiration in nature.

Today, I had that “enough is enough” feeling and decided I needed to go out and get inspired.  Find my mojo if you will…and I knew exactly where to go.  I took a quick drive over to one of my favorite lifestyle stores Terrain, in Westport.  As soon as I walked into the garden center I was transformed.  They have the most creative plantings and design inspirations.  I literally felt my hand’s itching to get to a computer and share my trip.  Just holding my palms over all the new seedlings, daffodils, succulents…it’s was like the fog lifted.  You could literally feel spring in the air.  Ahhhh Nirvana!

Of course I couldn’t leave without doing a little shopping.  However, this time I focused on creating my own oasis.  I purchased a number of heirloom vegetable and herb seeds.  I can’t wait to clean up the greenhouse this week and start my seedlings.  I even found my loofah seeds that I saved from last year. Who knows maybe I’ll create a new product with loofah in it – or find a way to bring mint into a product. That’s what is so inspiring – once again I am reminded everything is possible.

What are you all doing to get inspired and ready for spring?  I’d love to hear what you are all up to.
