Ever since I met celebrity chef, food writer and TV host, Candice Kumai a few months ago at international makeup artist and Green Beauty Team Founder, Kristen Arnett’s birthday party, I’ve been kind of obsessed! Candice truly inspires and empowers others as the quintessential example of living a healthy lifestyle for the mind, body and spirit.
I own all of her previous books and use them all the time, but I’m most excited about her newest recipe book, Clean Green Eats which was released today! I have found that her recipes are not only delicious and fit seamlessly into my clean eating diet, they are also packed with the necessary nutrients and antioxidants to keep me energized throughout the day.
That’s why I was thrilled when she sent me an advance copy of the book to check out – and said that I could post one of the recipes for you all to enjoy. I picked her Cucumber Aloe Melon Juice because it incorporates a few of my favorite skincare ingredients (cucumber and aloe) in a delicious drink. It’s the perfect way to start your morning.
Here’s what Candice has to say about it:

CANDICE KUMAI’S CUCUMBER ALOE MELON JUICE
- 1 ½ large cucumbers, unpeeled
- 3 tablespoons peeled aloe vera leaves
- ¼ cup honeydew melon, sliced, rind removed
- 4 cups baby spinach
- ½ cup fresh mint leaves
Put all the ingredients into a high-powered juicer and juice. Serve immediately. Serves 2; yields 18 ounces.
