Ever since I met celebrity chef, food writer and TV host, Candice Kumai a few months ago at international makeup artist and Green Beauty Team Founder, Kristen Arnett’s birthday party, I’ve been kind of obsessed! Candice truly inspires and empowers others as the quintessential example of living a healthy lifestyle for the mind, body and spirit.
I admit it, I’ve been in a funk. Not an all out pull the blankie up over my eyes…but a true writers block funk. The weather here in the Northeast has been quite cold and snowy and well – I guess I needed a little sunshine on my face and some inspiration. We all find inspiration in different ways. Sometimes it’s in a song, a walk along the beach, a hike in the mountains or just reading a good book while the sun warms you. Personally, I find inspiration in nature.
The ‘chic’ part of our eco-chic lifestyle brand is basically there because we are obsessed with all things design. Whether it is luxuriously glamorous or fabulously homemade, we can peruse design blogs for inspiration all day long. Here are the three that we find ourselves frequenting the most, and we couldn’t recommend them enough!
When the calendar ticks over to fall, the only thing we want to do is curl up in front of the fire with one of these. We have a serious apple fixation going on, as evidenced by our obsession with this, so this cocktail is definitely here to stay!
We’ve all been there: you’re home on a Friday night and all you want to do is a soothing DIY face mask but your pantry only has canned beans and old spaghetti. What’s a crafty gal like you to do? Well, just so the dreaded situation never happens again, here are our favorite pantry essentials to have on hand at all times because you never know when the urge to DIY will strike!
There is nothing more simple, perfect and satisfying than a great salad. If you are what you eat, then this delicious blend of home-grown goodness will make you glow inside and out! Here’s our favorite recipe for lunch, dinner, and anytime in between:
Maybe it’s just our desire to re-decorate; but recently our blogrolls have been filled with home tours and DIY projects. The best part? The before and after pictures; it is always inspiring how you can transform a room or bookshelf – if you have the talent! (NOTE: we do not).
Maybe it’s just us, but once the weather man mumbles the words: heat index, heat advisory – our appetites take a nose dive. We tend to graze on fruits and veggies through the day and take cover and stay hydrated. One of our favorite summertime treats that we’re ALWAYS in the mood for is watermelon! You already know that it is refreshing, super hydrating and sweet but it is also chock full of benefits!
