August Reflections – On Legacy
This past month, the word legacy has been echoing in my heart more deeply than ever before. After attending the Legacy Circle event in the Hamptons, surrounded by powerful, purposeful women, I found myself sitting with a question I haven't been able to shake: What does it truly mean to leave a legacy?
For me, the answer shifted profoundly following the passing of my mother.
My mom was a teacher, but her true gift wasn't just in lesson plans; it was the way she made people feel. Every student in her classroom felt seen, safe, and loved. She carried a quiet strength, and her presence was a balm in a world that often feels rushed and disconnected.
When I looked through the book of letters her colleagues wrote upon her retirement, the message was unanimous: it was her unconditional and unwavering friendship that left the deepest mark. She showed up, always. With grace, loyalty, and a heart that never stopped giving.

That, to me, is the essence of legacy.
It's not about accolades or titles. It's about impact. It's about how you love. It's about how you show up when no one is watching. It's about choosing presence over perfection, kindness over chaos, and intention over impulse.
Attending the Legacy Circle reminded me that legacy isn't something we leave behind one day; it's something we're crafting every single moment. It's how we nourish ourselves, how we raise our families, how we build community. It's in the soft touches, the long hugs, the vulnerable conversations, the shared meals. The quiet courage to heal. The decision to build a life of Wellth: abundant in love, in wellness, in health, in purpose.
This August, I'm holding space for the kind of legacy my mother lived. One of compassion, connection, and consistency. And I invite you to reflect with me:
What will your legacy feel like to others? What can you give today that brings light, healing, or ease to someone's life?
Let's not wait for "someday." Let's live our legacies now, with softness, strength, and sacred intention.
